Flashback Friday... This is what Tater Tot looked like when he first came to us at Animal Samaritans. Most of his hair was being held on by dirt. A lot of it eventually fell away after his medicated baths. When the Adoption Alliance team first spotted him at the Coachella Valley Animal Campus, we thought he was a she and that she was pregnant. When we realized he was indeed a HE we got him right over to our clinic only to discover he was backed up from stuffing his face on something that must have been a mighty tasty meal. We thought a good fast and several bowel movements would do the trick, along with treatment for his Demodex. When the swelling in his belly didnt go down once the food passed through, we discovered he had Cushings disease. He had a lot going against him, that was for sure. The Alliance program takes on medical cases when they have the funding to do so. Every donation to the program helps us to continue saving dogs in need of serious medical care, like sweet sweet Tater Tot.
