Flashback When Chris Morris of the SAIDIA africa NGO was gunned down by thugs in 1996 near Mweiga in Nyeri, the Government logged investigation and identified Wacucu as the perpetrator. Wacucu was combed from his hideout in Nakuru Bahati and killed together with the girlfriend he was using as a human shield. Flash forward Maina Njenga is accosted by thugs and the umber of investigation dies out within a week. No road block is mounted in Nyahururu and the thugs disappear in the thin air having accomplished their mission. Contrary: Recently I went to a small centre in the outskirts of Nakuru town(Ngorika Centre) dressed like a commando. Within seconds I was identified as a stranger by the local intelligence and within minutes guns were pointed at my vehicle. It was only after identifying myself that I was let to go. Yet those who attempted to kill Maina Njenga drove into Nyahururu and had lunch without raising an eye brow.
