Flashing red lights in a rear view mirror give most of us pause. We check our speed and move over to the slow lane. Behind the flashing red light may very well be an officer who keeps a drunken driver from plowing into you at the next turn. Police officers are generally the first responders and their presence may be the difference between life and death; calm or havoc.They are a welcomed beacon in the darkness when your child can not breathe; a signal of hope when your sense of security is attacked. It is my hope you will not have to call upon their services, but....know - this week, even on Christmas Day, they will be there! To serve, protect and defend.
