Flat 68 125 Albion Street Leeds LS2 8ES 15 May 2008 To Whom it May Concern Mr Mustafa Biltawi – A Personal Comment Having worked alongside Mustafa for some 12-14 months on the A1 Bramham to Wetherby Upgrade, I consider he has many positive skills and attributes which have contributed to the successful progress of the scheme so far. His technical expertise & positive approach to problem solving have been evident when, for example, he has requested information from the Designer, Mustafa explains not only the query or issue but suggests considered options for discussion and review. My impression is that Mustafa has a good understanding of the design and the constraints, which are in place, such that solutions or alternatives he offers are buildable and still compliant with Standards. I am also aware that Mustafa has prepared and steered temporary works AIPs & consent applications through the Highways Agency & Environment Agency Approval processes with success and designed temporary works himself in some instances to ensure programme targets are met. Mustafa has also put much effort into creating a good working relationship with myself and other members of Atkins site and design office team, prior even to the start of construction works, and has continued to do this by adopting a collaborative and team-working approach at all times. In summary I consider Mustafa a skilled structures engineer & manager who has made a positive contribution to the A1 scheme, and hope to have the opportunity to work with him again.
