Flaum Eye Institute, University of Rochester Tenure-track faculty position in retina research. The Flaum Eye Institute has a tenure-track position available for scientists working in retina research with a desire to utilize high resolution retinal imaging. A strategic goal of the Flaum Eye Institute is to develop and apply innovative new capabilities to study the structure and function of the retina in healthy and diseased eyes. This includes basic research on mouse and non-human primate models as well as the translation of retinal imaging methods from development in animal models to their safe use in clinical applications. Preferred candidates will have a background in retina studies, should hold a PhD or MD or equivalent and have already demonstrated significant research achievement and the ability or potential to attract extramural funding. Depending on qualifications an appointment will be made at the assistant, associate or full professor level. This position will involve a primary appointment in the Flaum Eye Institute (see urmc.rochester.edu/eye-institute/). The successful candidate will work with a team of faculty developing and applying adaptive optics imaging (Advanced Retinal Imaging Alliance: aria.cvs.rochester.edu). Potential collaborators and excellent graduate students are also available through related programs; including the Center for Visual Science (a strong, university-wide community of 27 faculty engaged in vision research), the Neuroscience program, Biomedical Engineering, Biomedical Genetics and the Institute of Optics.
