Flood Bulletin 21 Issued Thursday, 27th June 2013 at 6:30am MINOR FLOOD WARNING FOR NEPEAN RIVER AT PENRITH Warragamba Dam commenced to spill at 12:20 pm (26/6/13). Spill from the Warragamba Dam peaked at 128,000 ML/day around 9pm last night. This peak spill combined with peak flows from the Nepean River will cause minor to moderate flooding downstream of Warragamba Dam today (27/6/13). Minor flooding is current at Penrith where the river peaked at 4.89 metres around 10pm last night (26/6/13). Latest River Heights: Location Height of River Date/Time of Observation Nepean R at Menangle Br 5.54m falling 06:08 AM THU 27/06/13 Nepean R at Camden Weir 3.3m steady 06:13 AM THU 27/06/13 Nepean R at Wallacia Weir 4.51m steady 06:03 AM THU 27/06/13 Nepean R at Penrith 4.37m steady 06:12 AM THU 27/06/13 NSW SES advises people for road information visit livetraffic or call 132 701. The NSW SES is monitoring the situation and advises: Never drive, ride or walk through floodwater Keep listening to your local radio station for further information, updates and advice Keep in contact with your neighbours Be prepared to evacuate if advised Rural property owners relocate livestock and farm equipment, including pumps, to high ground FloodSafe advice is available at ses.nsw.gov.au The NSW SES urges motorists to take extreme care as many creeks and streams may break their banks with fast flowing water across many causeways and low lying roads. Motorists are advised not to attempt to cross causeways as floodwaters may be deeper and faster flowing than you realise and can contain hidden snags and debris. If flooding occurs: Never drive, ride or walk through floodwater If you need emergency assistance as a result of flooding, contact your local NSW SES unit by calling 132 500. For life threatening emergencies, call 000 immediately.
