Flood Warning for the Condamine Balonne IDQ20825 MINOR FLOOD WARNING FOR THE LOWER BALONNE RIVER Issued at 8:56 am EST on Sunday 4 January 2015 by the Bureau of Meteorology, Brisbane. Issue Number: 9 Minor flood levels continue to ease along the upper reaches of the Balonne River at Weribone. Further downstream at St George, moderate flood levels peaked at 5.08 metres overnight Saturday. At 9am Sunday, minor flood levels are easing at St George. River level rises are occurring along the lower Balonne River downstream of St George, where some minor flooding is expected to occur during this week. Further isolated showers and thunderstorms are forecast for the Condamine and Balonne catchments during Sunday. BALONNE RIVER FROM BEARDMORE DAM TO ST GEORGE: Minor flood levels to ease at St George during Sunday. BALONNE RIVER AND TRIBUTARIES FROM ST GEORGE TO THE NSW BORDER: Minor flood levels are expected through to Hastings, with only small rises below the minor flood level expected at Dirranbandi and further downstream at Hebel. Predicted River Heights/Flows: BALONNE RIVER at: ST GEORGE: River levels to ease below the minor flood level (4.0 metres) overnight Sunday. DIRRANBANDI: Small river rises during the next few days, however levels will remain below the minor flood level. HEBEL: Small river rises expected later this week.
