Flood Watch - Western, Central and Eastern Inland Rivers: The monsoon trough is slow moving near the base of the Top End causing monsoonal showers and storms to persist in the north. Another trough over southern parts will continue to cause showers and storms with rain areas over the rest of the Territory. A deep tropical low over the Kimberley is expected to move southeast into central Australia late this week as a trough moves through from WA. Rainfall totals of 30 to 85 mm have been recorded in the area over the last 24 hours. Daily falls of 25 to 50 mm, with isolated heavy falls to 100 mm are expected throughout the Western Inland Rivers and the western parts of the Central Inland Rivers during the next 24 to 48 hours. These falls are expected to lead to significant stream rises which may affect road access at times. Some communities may become isolated. Daily rainfall totals of 30 to 70 mm with possible heavy falls to 100 mm are expected throughout the southern parts of the Western and Eastern Inland Rivers during Friday and Saturday. These falls are expected to lead to significant stream rises which may affect road access at times. Some communities may become isolated. Catchments likely to be affected include the Todd and Finke Rivers.
