#Flood_Relief in Jammu and Kashmir by our Jammu centre as on 10 September 2014 The state of Jammu & Kashmir State has been terribly affected by the recent unprecedented devastating flood and landslides in September 2014 resulting in loss of human lives and property. In the wake of this tragedy, the Jammu centre of Ramakrishna Mission rushed to the provide relief services to the flood victims. A team of two monks and a few volunteers went on a survey to the affected areas in some remote villages in Jammu district. It was found that the people there are in need of some dry food-items. Accordingly, food items including flour, pulses (chana), bread (chapati), pickles, biscuits, mustard oil and sugar are being distributed since last 3 days to about 220 families in Raipur Jagir, Sandhwa, Ghomanasha, Sajwal, Sudan Dubbaya and Hamirpur Kouna villages in Jammu district. Efforts are underway to extend the distribution in other affected areas. Further reports awaited.
