Floor area ratio for residential areas in Delhi raised to 200% The urban development ministry has increased the floor area ratio (FAR) in Delhi, a move that’s likely to be welcomed by home owners and developers. FAR is the proportion of a building’s total floor area to the size of the piece of land upon which it is built. While FAR has been increased from 150% to 200% on 750-1,000 sq. m plots, it has been raised from 120% to 200% for plots of 1,000 sq. m and above, an official of the ministry said on condition of anonymity. Urban development minister M. Venkaiah Naidu approved the proposal of Delhi Development Authority (DDA) in this regard on Monday, the official said.
