Florence Louise Grinner nee Florence Louise Tate June 21, 1931 Memphis Tenn -- December 17, 2014 Sarasota Florida FB Fams, some of you already know Our Mama Tate made her grand exit, yesterday, took it to the almighty next phase, Pops there by her side as always TCB w TLC. per their 58 years together going strong keeping it all the way live and and all the way Real. This memo clearly took a time-out to ready steady compose but we started thinking about you guys too soon as we got the painful news. Thanks and praises from Papa Charles, Brian,Maureen, Geri, Aunt Lucille, Chinara, DHK, Kay Shaw and GT to all those whove already reached out and offered your deeply felt (and Very Necessary) prayers, blessings, condolences, affirmations. Many of you know we dont say Our Mama Tate exclusively or gratuitously. We know how much her rocksteady FB crew meant to her sense of well-being and global connectivity as a retired Pan-Afrikan activist and grandmother. This forum was an extremely vital lifeline and productive platform for her to connect, bond, cultivate and nurture her extended virtual family here and Out There--especially all of you doing Justice work, doing Legacy work, doing Cultural work, doing Black Lives&Black Love Matters Work until the breakadawn and beyond. Truly Our Mother of The Matrix up in this waaay too addictive Zuckenberg Revolution. Among the many lessons Mama Tate taught us was the old-time preachers bit about how what mattered on the headstone wasnt the two dates on the side but what Folk did with The Dash. What Mama Tate did with The Dash she always did to The Max and in an exemplary way For The People, (or really anyone within earshot and eyesight) with vernacular fire, hip grace+ immaculate style. Obviously we in the immediate family circle need to pull back, detox from CrackBook a bit more,to breathe, sigh, ride the shockwaves for a minute longer. But we know Moms would have wanted her Beloveds up here to be acknowledged, recognized, and given the wider kinship space that so much love demands. Cherish these days and times with one another to the fullness--and in Mama Tates honor, Do That Dash until you just cant move.
