Florida panther returned to the wild A 2-year-old male panther was crossing the road in April when he was hit by a car in Polk County. The driver quickly called to alert authorities of the accident. Responders found the injured panther in nearby woods, where he had crawled under a fallen tree. After several surgeries, the panther was transferred to White Oak, a conservation Center in Yulee, for rehabilitation. Now recovered, the rehabilitated Florida panther was released back to the wild at Kissimmee Prairie Preserve State Park in Okeechobee County. Click on the photos for more!
