Flu epidemic update: The flu is still on the rise. Please continue to be careful and watch for possible flu signs. The following steps may help: 1. If you have not already done so, please immunize your children and yourself. 2. If your child has a fever, do NOT send him or her to school until fever-free for at least 24 hours. 3. Frequently wash your hands using soap. Scrub hands entirely for the duration of the ABC song. 4. Encourage kids to keep their hands away from their face (eyes, noses and mouths are the main entry point for influenza). 5. Change clothes and wash hands and faces when returning home from a germy place. 6. Until this epidemic subsides, avoid areas where people congregate who may be sick (indoor playgrounds, germy arcades, etc.). 7. If your child has a high fever, congestion and cough, seek medical attention within two days of onset. Testing and treatment for influenza is most effective when done early.
