Flurries began just after 6 a.m. and are expected to continue through out the day, dropping up to 3 inches across the region, meteorologist Tom Kines of Accuweather said Monday morning. Around 8 p.m., heavy snow that could accumulate to more than a foot will fall into Tuesday morning, with winds hitting highs of 50 mph. Some schools have already closed and many are dismissing early.
