Fly fishing Rivers Thredbo was a little higher this week after some good rain this is what we have been waiting for the reports have been coming in from the ski tube, blow the perisher bridge and up in Thredbo it’s self just remember look and you will get results most people are walking past most fish so just stop look around the Shady areas and in the deeper waters. Best dry flies are Red tags, beetles black, Coachman, Wulff Royal Best wets are Nymphs, Pheasant tails, Prince Nymphs Remember the Thredbo river isn’t the only stream around there go exploring!! Fly Fishing Rivers Eucumbene river has been a little hard but reports are coming in that the fish are getting more active late in the afternoons with all this hot weather there’s more and more insects getting about. So the best areas to be fishing is the top end of Eucumbene and in the gorge try to fish most of the shady areas this is where you will find the fish most people have been fishing all the open areas remember when it’s hot and bright we don’t like it same goes for the fish so look for the cooler waters. Start fishing the runs and let the fly get into the deeper waters after the runs this is where the fish are there all looking for the cooler waters. You are not going to find the fish in the ponds with this hot weather. Best flies are B/H Nymphs, std Nymphs, Best Dry’s are Hare’s Ear & Gold, Xmas beetles, red tags, Wulff Royal, Stimulators, TROLLING EUCUMBENE, Most of the fishing around Eucumbene has been ok but most places you must go deep around 25 foot if you are flat lining slow down get the lures deep move out into the deeper waters Old Adaminaby trolling with Blades , Tassie’s, stings around yens cove, grace lea Island, cemetery point. Dame wall Trolling with Fat fish at a nice slow speed have been picking up browns and some rainbows out in the deeper water the smaller flat fish have been working with cow bells and ford fenders. Down at Buckenderra the fishing has been a little slow with so get into the deeper waters dont go in close its not working start Trolling across the lake one side to the other. Seven gates much the same as Buckenderra Tassie’s, Blades, strike pro Minnows Best Tassie’s are y48,112,s11,29,37,s12,y36Stings 3,5,2,6
