FoD Weather has updated a Yellow Warning of Snow for the following forecast areas: Forest of Dean Vale of Leadon Issued: 08:00 Tuesday 13th January Valid: 16:00 Tuesday 13th January to 06:00 Wednesday 14th January *FREQUENT AND HEAVY WINTRY SHOWERS POSSIBLE LATE TUESDAY* A cold and unstable westerly airflow will bring frequent heavy showers across the area during Tuesday afternoon, evening, and overnight. Showers will become increasingly wintry with hail, sleet, and snow - even to low levels. Thunder and lightning is also possible. Showers will ease prior to the arrival of Wednesdays storm system. *SNOW - Amount and extent of snowfall remains uncertain. However, there is potential for anywhere from 2 to 8 cm of snow over the higher ground of the Forest of Dean, and possibly over the highest ground in the Vale of Leadon. Some snow to low levels is also possible. However, it is likely that some areas will miss snow altogether. *IMPACTS - Snow and ice will lead to hazardous conditions, especially on untreated roads and surfaces. Any lying snow should thaw during Wednesday. *NEXT UPDATE - This Warning will be updated by 18:00 Tuesday 13th January.
