Fobus Light Bearing Tactical Holster: First Thoughts. I - TopicsExpress

Fobus Light Bearing Tactical Holster: First Thoughts. I recently purchased a Fobus light-bearing holster for my 1911, as the weapon torch I use (Nextorch WL10 Executor) isnt mainstream enough to get a specific holster (like a Surefire X300 etc). I bought it from an Israel company on eBay for £16.42 with free international shipping, which was considerably cheaper than any other eBay seller. Ive not had the time to field test it yet, but in terms of first thoughts, I like it. It is lightweight and low profile, and the paddle attachment makes it easy to take on and off. I had to do some out-the-box modding to make it able to holster my weapon without setting the torch off, but that was only 10 minutes with a penknife. The draw angle is very different from holsters I am used to (such as the Serpa or IMI holsters) but after getting used to this, Im sure it will be fine. Basically, after un clipping the holster (another rather awkward motion) you have to rip the pistol out backwards rather than the vertical draw most holsters have. This is shown in the video attached. Unfortunately it came with a non-adjustable cant which isnt perfect for me, but Ill get used to it. So far Im happy with it, but I will do a much more in-depth review after I have field tested it in a couple of weeks time. Ill also add more pictures of the holster. This is a video with an overview of the holster from Dusty, writer for NNA (of course...) and user of the Fobus Tac holster: youtu.be/0S1kBmEoqW0 -SlowMo.
