Fog wove through the Wizards Wood and I paused for a moment where - TopicsExpress

Fog wove through the Wizards Wood and I paused for a moment where I stood. How odd, I thought to myself, with the temperature at only ten above, how could there be fog today...ah-ha this might be Winters game. Perhaps he was covering his own tracks and making himself hard to find. Its a good thing I know this path well and how through the woods it winds. I was pleased when I arrived at the mouth of the cave, and for the shelter from the cold that it gladly gave. But inside the passage the tunnel was so very dark. Thats when I heard the Green Dragon say: I am here, let me send out some sparks. Then he carefully parted his jaws and began to purse his lips. Slowly he exhaled from his maw, sparks coming from his tongues tip. Cleverly he sent a trail with coiling ribbons of light. Down the tunnel they went as it gently curved to the right. Suddenly the torches lit all along the way, I thanked him for so kindly saving the day. He smiled his crooked smile and through the passage we went. The ceiling wasnt always his friend, sometimes his head was sorely bent. Hes grown to full size now and what a beautiful creature hes become. I was honored that he considered me friend, and glad that hed known to come. Dragons are so very perceptive they just seem to know everything. What a blessing that was today for otherwise I could not my way have seen. We strolled through the tunnel as it wound its way, and there stood the Wizard at the back of the cave. He was brushing the air to make the Dragon-smoke clear away...actually that was quite futile. In his hand he held his staff hed capped it with a torch head. Hed put his mage-light to it and so the rest of the way was lit. The Green Dragon bowed his smiling head and the Wizard scratched him on the ear. Ah, young Prince, thank you for bringing our child in. Ill escort her from here, you may return to your den. The Green Dragon nodded and took to a side passage as the Wizard took my arm. He smiled at me with such delight, I was simply charmed. And so what pleases you so well? I do hope its something youre able to tell. He chuckled rather low. Oh only that Winters foiled himself, in his own fog he wanders still, which makes his going is slow. He thought hed be able to hide from my sisters and I, youd think by now hed know. Instead we added to the mist, in his own forest hes lost his sense of direction. Three times the correct turn hes missed, and he knows these woods to perfection. Hes been wandering in circles for hours on end and hell wander all this day again. We have no intention of letting him in...unless he surrenders that book of spells. He has to right that deed with our sister Bell. Come, while he entertains himself well go down the caverns to find a seating shelf. There well wait for the others to come and chat awhile about the weaving to be done. So off we went down into the Rainbow Cavern, where the crystal walls dance in so many hues. So far the blessings of this day hes mentioned hes only passed to me as clues. Ill have to pry at him a little more and see what plans he has in store. Join us as soon as you can, oh, and listen for the sentry calls of Owl and Raven. Winter no longer trusts not either of them, too often hes been mistaken. Thus, the way of those two can now be taken. See you when you get here! :)
