Foggy Bottom 4 years ago in the 2010 Flood. The little blue tent was our home for the first few weeks. One day, the most wonderful group of people wed ever met showed up here and in the next few months pretty much rebuilt our home. The Apostolic Christian World Relief folks were truly Angels on earth to us. We were in shock for awhile after the flood and they stepped in and helped us get our lives put back together. I have never met so many wonderful people during that rough time. Neighbors brought food, stayed and helped clean up the sludge which was everywhere...our friends, Harry and Bernadette invited us to stay at the karate studio up on the hill from us for the first 3 days when we couldnt get to our place ....the Red Cross brought food to a lot of us in the community....and the Church of Christ of Shacklett was an oasis for all the ones effected in our area. They had clothes, food, water and a lot of essentials during those first days. Everything we had was what we had on our backs, everything else was gone and when we went down to the church a few mornings later, I was so happy to get a clean pair of tennis shoes....I have never been prouder of a pair of shoes!
