Folks -- While I am cutting and pasting text below that I was asked to share by AFS -- the international student exchange program that has been around for 60+ years -- it is ALL TRUE! We are THRILLED to be hosting Giovanni, a funny, warm, 16-year-old from Italy. He arrived just a week ago and already feels like family. Theres no money involved, and AFS finds the student a public school to attend. If you think you might like to do something similar, read on! Friends, September is a big month for the AFS-USA community. Students from around the world are boarding trains, planes and buses, all heading towards their new homes for the next year. While some host families have already received their student, others are eagerly awaiting their arrival, imagining the cultural insight they will share and gain, and wondering what else the coming year has in store. This buzz of excitement has been felt by AFS-USA host families and students for over 65 years.
