Folks, I have a number of updates for you: YCS PACKS: Tomorrow (Friday, January 23rd) is a YCS PACKS Color Day, but will not count towards official points as this was a late decision. In addition, our PACKS activity will consist of an art activity in joining hands - should be exciting! Stay tuned for a full breakdown of events up to the March Break in the very near future. A big thanks to the PACKS team for their hard work on this. Staffing Updates: - Kevin Gobien from Meadowfields Community School will be replacing Elaina Armstrong as Vice Principal until the end of June. Were excited to welcome Kevin to the YCS staff and we wish Elaina and her husband the very best as they near the birth of their first child. - Monette LeBlanc will be replacing Nancy Guitton as the Grade Primary Immersion classroom teacher for the remainder of the school year. Monette has been teaching our Grade 5-6 Immersion classroom at YCS. We wish Nancy and her husband the very best as they welcome their first child. - With Monettes departure from Grade 5-6 Immersion, Jessica Forrest will be her replacement until Ashley Purdy returns from her Maternity leave. Were excited to have Jessica join the YCS team. - Bonnie Leblanc is continuing to recover from her concussion and the timeline for her return is unknown. Well be re-evaluating in mid-March and until her return, were excited to have Adrian Boudreau as her replacement. Grade 6 Fundraising: Our Grade 6s have mapped out their final push towards raising funds for their Graduation Trip to Halifax in June and need your help. Theyre planning a large book sale and community yard sale to be held at the Yarmouth Junior High in April-May and are currently collecting any and all donations. We think this could be BIG!
