Folks, I have reached a crossroad in my own path. I now have a decision to make about which path to take. Oddly, after meditating on the subject for several days I realize that this simply one of those moments where reason alone falls short and I must intuit my way forward. Do I continue to follow my head to do what is "right for me, right now?" ...or do I sacrifice the last vestiges of my ego in order to find satisfaction not in being... alone... but in being, for others. Self indulgence is satisfying, no doubt (at least temporarily), but being lost in the service of others is something that brings me a joy that transcends uncertainty. Compassion and happiness is my nature; joy and mischief are my playfellows. I was born to love and serve; not as a doormat or a slave, but as a helper and a co-creator. If I... alone... is what you want... then here, say I, to the open sky, what I am is yours, be it as you wish.
