Folks, Lets look at what the Nigerians soldiers are facing in the North objectively. The top military brass are mostly Northerners who are reluctant to fight their relatives. Most of them are Muslims who believe that a Christian should not be their leader. When General Ihejirika was there to cure Boko Haram sickness, there was an outcry from the Sultan, Governors, and most Northern elites. Under these trying circumstance why wouldnt Boko haram fester? Did the Boko haram boys appear from hell? Do they not have relatives, homes and roots in the northern communities? These misguided youths are hip-tied with their people. They are the pride of the community who send them to madrasa schools, protect their identities from the police, sponsor them with money and munitions; above all pray with them in the mosques. Dont tell us that they are strangers to their own communities. On the other side, if you were a fighting soldier from the South in such inhospitable environment what would you do? Are go going to go gone-ho among treacherous enemies? You are subject to your Northern superiors. Wouldnt you know that your wings are clipped? Besides, we know that our fighting young soldiers are suffering hardship brought about by hunger and lack of equipments. Not that the govt did not provide the money but their money is stolen as usual, no surprise here. Remember no normal rotation is going on these days. The boys are hungry, tired, almost disarmed in the midst of dogs and murderers. If you were a Southern soldier wouldnt you try your best to save your own life and come back alive to meet your loved ones again, considering that you are just fighting for oil you may not benefit from?
