Folks are always looking for grain free bread recipes, and Cheryl - TopicsExpress

Folks are always looking for grain free bread recipes, and Cheryl Nader-Bynum specifically asked today. I am going to link a few recipes here, and hope the rest of you will add to the list. I have one request, though. IF your bread recipe (or commercial bread suggestion) has ANY of the following starchy fillers, please mention that in your comment. If it is only one or two, just list them so folks know right off what the compromise is. But if the ingredient list looks like the Udis bread, then please dont bother to post it. WB is about keeping blood sugar low, and common ingredients that are used to make commercial gluten-free bread products are not allowed: Check out this list from the label of Udis Gluten Free White bread: WATER, TAPIOCA STARCH, BROWN RICE FLOUR, CANOLA OIL, EGG WHITES, POTATO STARCH, MODIFIED FOOD STARCH, TAPIOCA MALTODEXTRIN, DRIED CANE SYRUP, TAPIOCA SYRUP, YEAST, GUM (XANTHAN GUM, SODIUM ALGINATE, GUAR GUM), SALT, LOCUST BEAN GUM, CULTURED CORN SYRUP SOLIDS AND CITRIC ACID (MOLD INHIBITOR), ENZYMES. YUCK!!!! That is my first reaction to this list. There is not much of nutritional value here, and there are better choices for you. In addition to the assortment of starches and gums, there is canola oil, which is one of the worst, rancid and inflammatory oils you can consume. Corn syrup too, just be FREE of all these processed ingredients and either make your own fresh grain-free bread or look for another commercial bread that does not have this crap in it. Having said that, if any of our members choose to have their Udis bread and enjoy it, dont have problems with it, that is perfectly fine. Nobody will come to your home and take your bread away. ;) But please refrain from defending your choice here, because it is not a debate we are looking for, and this post is not intended to be criticism. It is for educational purposes, to answer in a single thread the common question, What kind of bread can you eat on WB? I will make this a permalink thread to add to our Files section, so that other members can find easy access. Im looking forward hearing from you.
