Folks get confused on ip vs circuit switching. Here is the answer... Circuit switching is only layer 1 or the physical layer. Prominas are needed and all voice and data is placed on the circuits programmed in the promina. The focus is on the physical circuit - not the voice or data on the circuit. Packet switching is at least layer 2 or data layer. The bits in the traffic are inspected and the equipment decides where to send each packet based on this information. In FDMA we use the serial port on the router instead of the promina. In TDMA we use the RJ45 connector on the router. There is more to learn, but these basics will give you a solid foundation.
