Folks need to come to this important hearing on the new Manchester Academic Standards on TUESDAY, July 8th at 7 pm in Memorial High School. 2,000 teacher hours were wasted re-developing Common Core while students lost precious classroom instruction time and taxpayers funded the bill. The biggest glaring problem was that Manchester had the nations leading experts on academic standards and did not get them to approve he final draft. No content and standards expert will sign off on a set of Common Core LITE standards. Now the Curriculum & Instruction Committee is going to listen to public feedback? So instead of asking the nations experts to weigh in on what they developed, they are going to ask moms & dads to take their time and go through academic standards? I also have to wonder why the administration FAILED to offer information on these standards vs what we know to be the best in the country? Why no comparative analysis by the ones earning 6 figure salaries?
