Folks, on behalf of the board, we all appreciate everyones comments and concerns about the survey. Several of us were concerned that the survey, as written, might be biased against the idea of changing the grading scale. Whether it is or is not biased, the results, show that the overwhelming majority of respondents believe that changing the grading scale is a good idea. Please keep in mind that while I, personally, am encouraged by these results, the community point of view is just one data point and that the entire board needs to vote for this change (in other words, these results do not guarantee that the grading scale will change). Thank you to everyone who posted and emailed their concerns about the survey. We did consider taking it down and modifying it, but given the results, despite the flaws, we have decided to leave it as is.
