Folks there are a lot a negative comments and mean things begin said... I just want to clear any misrepresentations. I no longer own Famous Daves and havent for quite sometime. It is a publicly traded company that is owned by wall street investors. I should have never taken the company public its the worst decision I ever made but at the time I had attorneys who advised me to do so rather than encouraging me to own my dream and keep what I created in the family. I only owned the restaurant in Hayward. I have gotten paid for commercials and thats it ... all those bottles of sauce in the stores that you see... I dont make one cent on any of it. Over the years I have given a lot back to the communities and especially youth programs. This Famous Daves restaurant that unfortunately burned was the only restaurant that I owned. My wife and I are doing all that we can to reopen and continue to provide jobs. But insurance doesnt always pay back as expected or as quickly as we are finding out. Famous Daves the corporation is not contributing anything to this but theyve agreed to let the Famous Family and the franchise restaurants help out. Some of these comments are uncalled for and mean spirited... totally out of character for what my wife and I have generously given back over the years. We have given many opportunities for young people to succeed and we are proud of what we have done. This fire took a dream that I worked all my life to create. WE are not letting this get us down and we will regroup and come back. Those who out of the kindness of their hearts are helping our employees... just know it means a lot to them and we are all grateful. I think this is a good example why you always want be kind to others as you never know what theyve been through. Those of you who have always followed my Facebook posts know that I have always been upfront that I have been through tough times in my life and have learned a lot of lessons the hard way.
