Folks, these Osteens and their happy, prosperity gospel, is just - TopicsExpress

Folks, these Osteens and their happy, prosperity gospel, is just simply not biblical teaching. This isnt my opinion either. The Bible is VERY clear on this. 2 Timothy chapter 4:2-4.........Preach the Word; be ready in season AND out of season;reprove,REBUKE, exhort, with great patience and instruction. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance with their own DESIRES, and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths. 2Timothy chapter 3:2- For men will be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful and unholy..... Goes on to say in verse 6:For among them are those who enter into households and captivate weak women weighed down with sins, led on by various impulses, ever learning and never able to come to the truth. That was part of Pauls letter to Timothy of course. How does that apply, what is the context and why must we and Timothy rebuke those folks, like The Osteens? If Timothy and also us today, understand why their are so many men and women who pervert the received and true Christian faith, he, as well as us, will be better able to be on our guard against them and we will not become discouraged when people will not endure sound teaching. We HAVE to speak out against it, as to not allow someone else to be led astray by it.
