Follow-up from last nights post. Noemi is trying to save the lives of the street dogs in her Fresno County town. She has the support of the Police Chief but few resources. What you can do: 1. Join Noemis Huron Animal Shelter group (Ill post the link in the comments); 2. Rescue, foster, or adopt one of the dogs; 3. Share to find rescues/adopters for each dog in need. There are a mom and litter of puppies who look like maybe Sheltie mixes, and a 4-5 month old puppy, maybe a foxhound/pit mix, in the citys kennels now, and dozens if not hundreds of strays on the streets; 4. Help find veterinarians/vet techs, and volunteers to examine, vaccinate, and s/n the dogs; 5. Donate if youre close enough, or set a donation aside for the time (soon, I hope) when well be able to post a way to donate money; 6. If you are part of a rescue organization, would you participate in or lead an organized rescue effort? Noemis disgusted with the people who let their dogs go on the streets, but shelters exist in part because of owner irresponsibility, and even if owners want to be responsible, its hard when the nearest vet is an hour away. In this case, it sounds like everyone actively involved really, truly wants to save lives but has little experience with doing it. Good for Noemi and the others in Huron who are taking the lead. Lets help.
