Following Chris Epting lead.....here is my just sent email to ALL City council members: To the City Council Members of Huntington Beach CA, As a resident of Huntington Beach and an attendee at City Council meeting Oct 6, 2014, I am motivated to contact you. I refrained from participating as a speaker in an attempt to unbiasedly view the proceedings. It is unfortunate that many of the council members did not. Let me assure you, the people in that room who opposed the permit parking on 7th-8th and 9th streets did so out of a love and concern for this city. Many of us knew before entering the meeting that the vote was going to be 4-3 in favor, and yet took time away from families to stand before you and present case after case of why you should not, at this time, vote to pass. You did not listen you tolerated. You do not represent the City of Huntington Beach you represent your own special interests and pander to those you believe will help you succeed in those endeavors. I cannot believe that you heard one word anyone other than HBDRA spoke. After 80 speakers a reasonable mind would have come to the conclusion there is more to be done for our downtown residents than to slap a no parking sign outside their homes. Joe Shaw you are the most culpable of all....How dare you praise one side of the debate while ostensibly chiding the opposition. Shameful. In all my years of voting I pride myself in always voting FOR a candidate and not voting purely against another. This year I make the case to all who will listen...2014 NO INCUMBENTS.
