Following a bird with colourful feathers I reached a landscape that was not known to me before. There were a few people with traps for birds and a number of birds and animals already trapped too. ‘Beautiful birds’ - I told them, ‘But don’t you know it is a criminal offence to catch them and keep under your custody?’. I found some young men being panicky and disappearing. I walked further to find a beautiful landscape and a house just a few metres behind my home where quite a number of people lived. I had never seen them before, but seemed they were all excited to find me. I don’t know how long did I stay there, but while coming out they were accompanying me, three among them with brass oil lamps lit and others following them. I wanted to capture that beautiful scene of them accompanying me but I had no choice of a great camera and had to satisfy myself with some snaps on the phone. Looking back I waved my hands once again. I couldn’t find those hunters on my way back, but memories of that house and those beautiful people were still smiling within and what surprised me more was I was never known of such a place before. It is raining! This morning, when I wake up after a series of nightmares and disturbed sleep of just few hours, there are no images on my phone, but all those strange but beautiful pictures right within my eyes. Images, imageries or just dreams that came to a disturbed mind, I don’t know if I have to ponder over them, but there is Maha Mrityunjay Homa at the family temple and I need to go. While closing my eyes in front of the mystic flames of Homa, I would secretly wish - ‘My Lord, grand me the boon of sound sleep that would let me open my eyes to a serene morning!’ An appetite to perceive the taste of food, blessing of a peaceful and sound sleep, and waking up to a refreshing morning- perhaps these are the highest boons anyone could ever receive in life!
