Following a thorough investigation, police are no longer treating an incident in Chorlton where a woman sustained stab wounds as suspicious. At 3.50pm on Thursday 16 October 2014, police were called to Manley Road following reports a 76-year-old woman had suffered stab wounds. Officers attended and the woman was taken to hospital where she remains in a serious but stable condition. Detective Chief Inspector Colin Larkin said: I know this incident has caused a lot of unrest and anxiety in the community. I do not want to go into the specifics of what happened but I do want to reassure people living in this area that we are no longer treating this incident as suspicious nor are we looking for any other person in relation to this matter.
