Following fairly aggressive and abusive comments from FB users who, when checked live in the South East of England, this message has been sent to them: Interesting to note who makes the most use of aggressive and abusive language. The law allows for people to define as Cornish not English and indeed a substantial proportion did so during the 2011 Census with the full support of Cornwall Council and other legislators. That coupled with the fact that 46% of school pupils in Cornwall identified as Cornish to the exclusion of all else during the 2013 PLASC survey shows how things are slowly changing. Our organisation fully recognises that Cornwall is a Celtic Nation next to England rather like Wales and Scotland. Our organisation also has consultative status at the United Nations and indeed, a number of our representatives are travelling to a UN meeting in Geneva later this year. Please bear in mind that it is unlawful to deny someone their identity. The weary and jaded nasty accusations by imperialists were aimed at Scotland until very recently. Things look set to change there fairly soon. Let us all remember that Cornwall was Englands first colony but that does not make us English or in England. Cornwall is administered as a county of England. That does not make it such. We no longer have a Cornwall County Council, we now have a Cornwall Council and changes are occurring all the time. Worthwhile remembering also that the latest statistics released by the ONS indicate that only 11% of Cornwalls GDP is raised by tourism and of that some is generated by domestic spending. Cornish not English - by lawful right. If anyone care to deny that right, then our organisation will certainly report them to the Equalities and Human Rights Commission for racism as we have done on previous occasions. Kernow bys vyken!
