Dogmatic beliefs - one of the main reasons information isolation persists is due to dogmatic beliefs. This authority would rather die than admit his/her theories are wrong so their motto - its my way or the highway. Solution - There is a law of requisite variety. This law requires that you put yourself into a feedback loop where you execute a course of action and then you measure progress at frequent intervals. Place close attention to the results to det3rmine whether your plan is working, or its not. Based on those results you move forward or you make adjustments. If you lack options or you are bound by dogmatic beliefs and rules then you are stuck!!! 2. Scams and Buls%^&T - There is a lot of scams, fakes, fads, frauds and just really weird stuff on the internet nowdays when it comes to weight/fat loss. Lets call it crock. Now crock (of sh%$#) has no scientific evidence supporting the claims, probably is costing you a fortune and you are being led down the garden path. Most people still dont investigate before they buy, they buy on emotion and where there is demand there will be supply. When you are investigating a new product, fad, way of dieting I advise that you develop skills to critically evaluate claims scientifically. If it sounds too good to be true, assume that until proven otherwise. Oh yeah and some key skills I am referring too may include: -getting independent confirmation of facts (get sup companies to send their independent evals) -create more than one hypothesis -avoid attachment to your own idea -be sure that claims and results can be measured -make certain their claims can be tested -encourage and participate in constructive debate.
