Following is Lauras Letter to the Editor in the Marshfield News Herald: EDITOR: I have been married to Bob Kulp for 28 years. When he was asked to consider running for the 69th Assembly District seat, I encouraged him. After talking to our kids and his management team at Kulp’s of Stratford, he made his final decision. We have seven children, ages 14 to 25. Two daughters are married and we have three grandkids. Two daughters teach English in Taiwan. One daughter is in her last semester of nursing school. Our oldest son is an airplane mechanic with his sights on mission aviation. One daughter took a six-month break after finishing her freshman work for her college degree to volunteer in an orphanage near Taipei. The two youngest are in high-school and involved in Civil Air Patrol. When I see my kids working hard and emulating the character qualities of their dad, it makes me proud. When raising our kids, Bob always stood on principles. He did not try to control every move our kids made, rather he built on the principles. He listened to them and was not afraid to open dialogue about the pros and cons of decisions the kids were about to make. He asked questions to understand a situation before making strong statements about it. Bob is not perfect, but is not afraid to admit wrong. We need someone in Madison who has a track record of standing firm on principles and the character qualities needed to deal positively with people. Someone who will listen to the people, be educated about issues, bring people together with honesty and integrity, all while standing on principle. I have watched Bob do this with his family and in his business and he will do the same in Madison. Please vote for Bob Kulp on Tuesday. Laura Kulp, Stratford
