Following my post yesterday, one might wonder: Where was the CIA when the Bush administration released its White Paper, which distorted the CIAs NIE Report? Why didnt the CIAs Director at the time, George Tenet, speak up? Well, the two Georges had become good friends. George T made up his mind to sell himself and his agency out on behalf of George W. In return, W gave T the Medal of Freedom. Destroying an entire organizations credibility, however, tends to piss off people who devoted their careers to building it up. So when George T published his memoirs, entitled At the Center of the Storm in April 2007, six of his former employees wrote him a letter (linked here). It makes for some pretty interesting reading.
