Following on from the excellent nominations for Gunsynd Park on Saturday, Racing Queensland has split the Maiden permitting two divisions of that Race and making way for a 6 Race program. President Michael Watt said “it is a great show of confidence by Racing Queensland to accommodate the country owners and trainers by providing the extra race. St George lost a meeting recently due to inclement weather and obviously the horses are around at the moment with the renovations underway at Clifford Park. The facilities at Gunsynd Park are first class and the weather forecast is certainly looking good. There is plenty on in Goondiwindi this Saturday with all three codes of football having home games and the Junior Rugby League travels to Warwick, but we just hope that a reasonable crowd attends” Mr. Watt explained. The usual excellent catering facilities will be provided and 6 bookmakers have recorded their interest in attending the meeting. The on course Tote will also be operating for those looking for the exotic bets. So a great day is assured and President Watt encourages as many patrons as possible to attend and witness Racing at its Best in the West on Turf.
