Following our latest contest performance at the Brass in Concert - TopicsExpress

Following our latest contest performance at the Brass in Concert Championship, the band is sad to say farewell to two of our most long serving and popular members of the band. Christopher Hicks leaves the band following 4 extremely enjoyable and successful years firstly as part of the cornet section then more recently in the engine room on 2nd horn. Christopher has stepped down from the band to concentrate on his exams as he studies for his accountancy qualifications. Everyone connected with Flowers Band would like to wish Chris every success in his future career. Following a long career at the highest level of brass banding, John Moss has decided to retire from playing. Reflecting on his decision, John confirmed This is the right time for me to take a step back. Ive had an amazing time with this group of players and friends, especially the last year sitting next to David Childs Official. John also made special mention of the previous 9 years where he sat next to formal Principal Euphonium Andrew Hicks. John described these years simply as an education. News on replacements for these two seats will be announced shortly.
