Following up on my Liat blog of last week re idiotic change to booking Liat tickets etc...I was departing Grenada on Friday last on Liat flight # 727 to Barbados via Trinidad (another of my one way tickets); This flight was suppose to depart at 1:30pm. Well when i got to the airport at around 11:45am, i was asked by the nice but clearly naive attendant why am i on this flight to Barbados when the Liat flight direct to Barbados that departs at 12:20pm was delayed and there was plenty room on board. Well i was elated and advise the polite young person that if it was possible, please put me on that flight. The attendant said he would have to go inside and speak with his bosses and off he went. He quickly came back looking a little depressed and advised that for me to get on the delayed 12:20 flight that I WOULD HAVE TO CANCEL MY EXISTING ONE WAY TICKET TO BARBADOS AND BUY A NEW ONE WAY TICKET. WHERE IN THE WORLD IS THIS PASSENGER FRIENDLY? AND HOW IN GODS NAME IS THIS GOING TO GET MORE PEOPLE TO TRAVEL ON LIAT? SEEMS LIKE A SNEAKY ATTEMPT TO TIEF PEOPLE MONEY. On top of all this, my original flight departed 2 hours late to Trinidad, then rather than going from Trinidad to Barbados we had to go through St. Vincent. We finally got to Barbados the 2 hours late. We then had to wait as flight #512 and crew to take the plane to Antigua had not yet come in. So when we finally departed Barbados, instead of going directly to Antigua we were diverted to St. Kitts. Had to then deboard flight 512 and get on another plane to bring us back to Antigua arriving at around 9:00pm.....2 hours late. Why in Gods name would anyone want to spend more money with Liat when they cant even get regular flights running on time and as per schedule.
