Following up on yesterdays post about COATS + CAR SEATS, follow these steps to see if your childs winter coat is safe for use in the car seat. Note: its easiest to do this inside your home, so that your child does not get cold. - Strap your child into their car seat wearing their winter coat. - Tighten the harness straps. - Remove your child from their car seat, being careful NOT to loosen the harness straps. - Remove your childs winter coat, and strap your child into their car seat (without wearing the coat). Don’t tighten the harness straps --- you want to see how the harness straps fit while your child was wearing their coat. - Now, take a look at the fit of the harness straps. Are they snug and secure? Be sure to perform the pinch test to see if you can pinch any of the fabric of the straps. If the straps are loose or dont pass the pinch test, your childs coat is too thick and should not be worn in the car seat. We are happy to answer any additional questions that you may have :)
