Fond old memories. There was a chain called Grandpas in St Louis, a good discount store that I liked. Anyway it was around 1985 and my wife wanted new furniture and drug me up to St Louis. I did not want to go (hey, we men will be happy with a couch found in the trash right ?) Anyway, we ended up stopping at Grandpas to pick a few things up and they had a huge sale on models on the end shelf. .99 ea (no foolin) they were not the most desirable cars, but at that price I bought 20 bucks worth and filled the cart. They were all MPC kits , which I liked. I must have had 5 of the same kit, the Dodge, Force 440 and the Plymouth Fury (1977 models) which had a strange way to build them, wrap around front window and no roof. Was really cool because they had a small minibike included too. I liked the Volare kit a lot too, but I got the last one. Now many of these are $50100 unopened. If I knew then what I knew now I would would have bought them all.
