They’ll share their experience about how to grow food simply at home and how that makes our families and communities stronger. This Food Growing Summit will show beginners how to grow food this season using the space you have. These conversations will also help those who have grown food in the past and want to be inspired to start again. Anyone interested in food growing, regaining control of their health and happiness and building their community’s strength will enjoy these conversations. Gary Heine co-founded Heine Brothers Coffee and imported and roasted organic, fair-trade coffee for 9 Louisville, Kentucky based cafes. He traveled extensively to the coffee growing countries of the world and helped raise awareness and implementation around fair trade and organic practices. Gary also co-founded the Louisville Sustainability Forum, the not-for-profits Breaking New Grounds, Cooperative Coffees and 15Thousand Farmers. These organizations created transformational communities around sustainable local agriculture and food growing locally, nationally and internationally. Valerie Kausen created spiritMuse Wellness + Consulting to support immediate and powerful change through intuitive healing and consulting. She has a wide breadth of knowledge about people and the world and communicates clearly and simply the broader view and how to empower people to take small steps to create change. Valerie was the Executive Producer of The Magical World of Chuck Jones. She also served as Executive Vice President for Chuck Jones, Animation Director and her grandfather, and for many years travelled with him all over the world. He created the Road Runner, Pepe LePew and was one of the fathers of Bugs Bunny. Valerie spent six years in Hawaii studying meditation and running a retreat center which created a strong foundation for the work she is doing today. She co-founded the not-for-profit 15Thousand Farmers to teach people how to grow food simply at home. She served as Executive Director for Eco Soul for many years supporting sustainable energy projects. Gary and Valerie enjoy creating community around transformation in all these areas and bringing inspiration and celebration as often as possible. They created Inspiring Grateful, LLC, to expand their ability to be of service teaching others small steps they can take that can make big changes in their lives.
