Food for thought. During my devotion today we discussed the topic of how to deal with anger when it arises in our lives. im not sure how many people are dealing with this issue but I know we all do and have before. I would like to give some words to try to help in our struggle with anger first I will start with James 1:19-20 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear and slow to speak, slow to wrath. for the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God. ii understand this to mean that we are to listen and hold our words in order to think about what we say before we say something hurtful and mean. Colossians 3:8-10 tells us But now ye also put off all these; Anger, Wrath, Malice, Blastphemy, Filthy communication out of your mouth. Lie not to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; And have put on the NEW MAN, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him. I take this as to mean that we as sinners are to take our old selves and remove them ending all of which we were and be the new us that is following Christ. We are to follow Him and try to be more like Him. it is hard for us because we walk in sin everyday and can not withstand the temptations as our Father has Because we are not perfect like He. But we are to try each and every day to be more and more like Him and try to follow and be like Him. I will end this with one more scripture. Ephessians 4;26-27 Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: Neither give place to the devil. this to me says that our Lord knows that we will get angry but is telling us to settle things and make amends before the night comes. is says Be angry and sin not. meaning to hold our anger inside so that we do not say something that will hurt our ministry to others. and by doing so we do not allow a place in our heart for the devil to reside within us. we also have to keep in mind that even though we may get angry sometimes that if we lift the problem up to God that he can and will lift the burden and help lead us out of the situation at hand. also remember that He loves each and every one of us and that if we live for him he will always guide us down the path of least resistance. Good Night and God Bless.
