Food for thought... I imagine we dont cultivate crops at scale in Queenie because there isnt a lot of arable land and the cool climate and poor weather = slow crop production. These are no longer limitations to crop production and advances in technology and knowledge of how plants grow may mean large scale indoor plant production may be viable, see link below. Queenie sure has enough electricity and water to feed these crops. The selling point? Why would someone want to buy food from Queenie? Well I reckon we must have the cleanest air and water (the stuff that comes from the sky, not from our taps) in Australia if not the world. Thats got to be worth something; the advertising gurus would have a field day with it. The limiting factor for Queenie would be crop transport to major centers. That said, maybe the train from Melba Flats could be modified to suit? A study would be required to select the best crop/s (marihuana maybe, for medicinal purposes of course, god knows theres some corporate knowledge in Queenie on that crop ;-p), and determine viability. Government would need to come to the party with legislation though. Another legal crop could be selected in the short term to develop infrastructure till the legalities on medicinal Ganga production are sorted, if that path is chosen.
