Food for thought..... The Book Of Revelation Scares Me; Should It? That depends entirely on rather you are a believer on the one God sent or not! I enjoy reading the book of Revelation because I do believe on the one God sent and I know without a shadow of a doubt that I will spend all of eternity worshipping my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. If however one is not a believer or is just lukewarm about it, then they better be afraid; be very afraid! Jesus said, I know thy works, that thou art neither cold or hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew (vomit) thee out of my mouth. (Revelation 3:15-16) All of those that attend the First Self-Righteous church, or only go for something to do for a few hours on Sunday morning arent gonna cut it and Jesus will then vomit them out of His mouth. I assure you, you do not want Jesus to spew you out of His mouth, because the only place left after that is the lake of fire. What I dont understand is how someone could read Revelation and read about all the things coming upon the earth and still not believe. A few of the things coming on the earth include: The wrath of God poured out without measure, (Revelation 14:10) The mark of the beast, (Revelation 13:16-18) Men seeking death and not finding it, (Revelation 9:6) (anyone seen any Zombie movies lately?) The white throne judgment, (Revelation 20:11-15) and then if that were not enough; being cast into the lake of fire. (Revelation 20:15) Why would anyone want to go through all of that just to be tormented day and night forever and ever? I am aware that there are many popular teachings out there that say no one is going to hell, or only for a short time. HOWEVER, there is NO WHERE in the Bible that backs this up. Jesus taught on hell and had many run ins with the devil. I believe that Jesus knew what He was talking about and if its good enough for Him, its good enough for me! Jesus said, And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones that believe in me it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea. And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: where their worm dieth not and the fire is not quenched. And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire: where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. (Mark 9:42-48) Jesus also gives a good description of hell in Luke 16:19-31 Where He talks about the rich man and Lazars. Besides, anyone that says there is no hell or that no one is going there is calling Jesus a liar and I sure would not want to be in their shoes come judgment day! In fact, Jesus said that more people are going to hell than will ever make it to Heaven. Jesus said, Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life and few there be that find it. (Matthew 7:13-14) When I was in school many was more than a few and unless thats changed in the past 25 plus years; it still is! Make no mistake, there are A LOT of really bad things coming on the earth; really bad and I can assure you, we have not seen anything yet! BUT, the good news is that God has a history of taking care of His own! He has never failed to do so in the past and He will NEVER fail to do so in the future. For I am the Lord, I change not... (Malachi 3:6) The question is are you one of His people or not? It does not matter when Jesus returns; rather its before, during, or after the tribulation. What does matter is that we believe on the one God sent because that is the only Works we will be judged on. I know this because of a question the disciples asked Jesus in the book of John. Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent. (John 6:28-29) When we believe on the one God sent, our name is written in the book of life. If we do not, our name is not written in the book of life and the only thing we will have to look forward to is being cast into the lake of fire. And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. (Revelation 20:10-15) The dead this is referring to are those that are dead to Christ; the unbelievers. I have one final thought for you; The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good. The Lord looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God. They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one. (Psalm 14:1-3) It is very important that we seek God while He can be found. There are still people getting on the great gospel ship and God WILL NOT cut the time as long as people are still accepting Christ. But, at some point they will stop and there will be only evil continually. Until then we are to be about or Fathers business. And never forget, it was not raining when Noah entered the ark! Although the world is full of suffering; it is also full of overcoming it. Helen Keller
