Food for thought: These are rhetorical questions that dont require an answer: How many of you out there read your Bible everyday? If you DO read your Bible every day, what do you get out of it? Do you actually remember what it was you read? Had a GREAT message tonight at the 4H grounds with Brother Don Hardman. He preached on reading the Bible, REALLY reading the Bible and not going thru the motions. We are ALL guilty of not really paying attention to what we read alot of times. We read because we know we should but we dont take the time to REALLY read. If you read something and dont understand it, READ IT AGAIN!! if you still dont understand READ IT AGAIN!! Read scripture out loud. Makes sense that if we read silently we get distracted, our minds wonder and so on. if we read ALOUD, we not only SEE the word, we HEAR the word. And if your trying to read a certain book and its just to hard to understand or follow ( Chronicles was my problem) Get away from it for the time being. Pick a scripture and read it, then read it again, and again till you get SOMETHING out of it. Write down questions about it and go to your Pastor. If we arm ourselves with the word, it shields us from evil. It helps us right when we need it most, but we HAVE to absorb what we are reading so it will stick and be there when we need it.
