Foods that are nutritionally empty lead to malnutrition, eating - TopicsExpress

Foods that are nutritionally empty lead to malnutrition, eating disorders and obesity. To avoid sudden, harmful blood sugar spikes, not even healthy individuals should eat refined sugar or starch-packed foods. Having a regular craving for sweets and starchy foods represents a serious signal of a major disturbance of cell metabolism. However, sugar is actually not such a big concern when you compare its effects with those caused by eating animal proteins. Diabetes patients are almost never told that the amount of insulin the body needs to process one regular piece of steak, for example, equals the amount of insulin required for about half a pound of white sugar. The reason no doctor is telling you about this is that eating the steak does not substantially raise your blood sugar levels. Consequently, it appears that meat is a safe food, especially for diabetics. Because of this misinformation, the ‘disease’ can progress and worsen quietly and unnoticeably.
