Football - LFA President Identifies Danger MONROVIA - The President of the Liberia Football Association (LFA), Mr. Musa Hassan Bility, says he sees danger in the smooth running of the game, if his Vice President for Administration, Mr. Musa Shannon, is not re-elected to his post. The much publicizedCongress of the LFA is slated for March 22, 2014 in the port city of Buchanan, Grand Bassa County. It is at that congress which officials of the LFA will be elected. Though Mr. Bility is running for his second term unopposed, Vice President for Administration Shannon will be re-contesting the position against veteran sports administrator, Mr. SekouKonneh. Mr. Konneh is the President of Liberias Champions Barracks Young Controllers (BYC), a team that has made headways for herself and Liberians both on the local and international scenes. Mr. Bility does not want his Vice President Shannon to be defeated at the polls on grounds that he has familiarized himself with him(Shannon) and that if Konneh wins, it will take him time to get adapted to the position. Speaking at the Hebert Grisby Forum held at the headquarters of the Press Union of Liberia (PUL) on Friday, March 14, 2014, the incumbent LFA President stated that he will be like fish out of water if Mr. Shannon is defeated at the polls. The Hebert Grisby Forum, which was organized by the Sports Writers Association of Liberia (SWAL), brought together top sports journalists and sports administrators. Mr. Konneh is a very good administrator, and I must give him credit for that. He has a good leadership ability as we can clearly see from the many progresses of BYC. But what I am saying here is that I am used to working with Shannon. We have had a good working relationship and this is something that I dont want to lose, or any administrator for that matter would want to lose, said Mr. Bility. It will take me a lot of time to readjust working with someone new in my leadership. This is why I am also in support of all of the old Executive Committee Members, who are going for re-election. The LFA boss pointed out. Bility, who used Commercialization as his main platform in the last elections, said he will not change course, because the policy has worked. I will continue with the Commercialization Policy because it has worked for us. I will not change any course. What we can do is to build or improve on this policy, he stated. He disclosed that the football house will construct an LFA Center, a Technical Center and a Commercial Center this year.
