Football Academy Coach Jobs in Football - Hampshire Job Title: Football Academy Coach Salary: £19.02 - £24.62 per hour Contract Type : Permanent - Hourly Claims Hours: Variable Closing Date: 1st September, 2014 Job Description: Part-Time Claims - Permanent £19.02 to £24.62 per hour (based on the full time equivalent of £19,612 to £25,393 per annum) Closing date for applications: Monday 1 September 2014 Interviews likely to take place: Wednesday 10 September 2014 or Friday 12 September 2014 We are seeking to appoint a dynamic, committed and experienced football coach to be part of the College Football Academy, which is part of the Sports Academy. The successful candidate will be a well-qualified and experience coach that will be responsible for the coaching of a team within the football provision at the College. They will be expected to deliver player centred development programmes. You will also be responsible for organising weekly fixtures, managing the players, equipment and transport whilst liaising with local clubs to support the development of effective club/college links. Our College is a leader in its field in terms of sports provision and as such we have an excellent reputation for sport and the development of student’s technical and tactical skill level. As a Sports Academy we offer 5 sports: Basketball, Football, Hockey, Netball and Rugby. Within the Football Academy we run 3 men’s teams and 1 women’s team. The students train twice a week (Monday afternoon & Friday morning) and play competitively in matches (Wednesday afternoon) during curriculum time throughout the week. We have excellent facilities including: 3 football pitches, 2 rugby pitches, full size astro and warm up pitch, sports hall and a hard court area that consists of 4 netball courts and 3 tennis courts. The successful applicant will have a Level 2 Football Coaching certificate, be an excellent role model and caring member of staff who enjoy coaching 16-19 year olds. They will have a proven track record of high quality coaching experience, and have personal qualities to ensure the smooth running and development of the Football Academy. The post holder’s pattern of work will be overseen by the Head of Physical Education & Sports Academy. Duties will include: 1. T o prepare and implement a well-structured and progressive coaching sessions adhering to the seasonal plan; ensuring a high quality, enjoyable coaching experience centered on the needs of the participants within your team. 2. T o be part of the identification of talented young people and encouraging further development via a number of different courses/opportunities. 3. To be a positive role model, creating a positive and professional environment in which to motivate and encourage young people to participate in football. 4. To be committed to continuous professional development relevant to the post and personal training needs supporting future career advancement. 5. To maintain current knowledge of relevant Football Association/Football League Trust programmes, policies and practices. 6. To carry out all administrative duties as necessary e.g. maintain accurate attendance registers, carry out risk assessments, match selection & communication with students of their selection, communication with parents/guardians where necessary, communication with other colleges to arrange/re-arrange fixtures, etc (this not a definitive list). 7. T o assist in the collation of management information as required. 8. To attend regular meetings – the College, Hampshire Colleges, County & FA as and when necessary/required. 9. To develop and maintain effective and positive working relationships with all departmental and college staff, local Clubs, Colleges and Schools. 10. To agree to abide by a code of conduct and carry out duties in accordance to the Colleges’ policies, including equal opportunities, safeguarding children, health and safety at work, etc. 11. To undertake other duties and responsibilities as required from time to time commensurate with the grade of the post. 12. To be prepared to carry out work during evening and weekend periods. The duties and responsibilities may vary without changing the general character or grading of the role. Technical Requirements for working within the Sports Academy: 13. Should be able to provide players with a skill set to develop their game, foster lifelong healthy, active lifestyles and improve the long term performance of all individuals, in line with the principles of the FA’s LTPD Model. 14. The post holder should be able to use appropriate coaching and self-help tools to aid individuals to learn the basics needed to reach their full potential. 15. Successful candidates will possess the following: - Ability to demonstrate an appropriate technique and skill development practices. - Ability to enthuse and communicate with 16-19 year-olds in a positive learning environment. - Energy and enthusiasm and proactive style. - Ability to work on one’s own initiative and plan own workload. - Passion for football and coaching. - An understanding of how to differentiate in a coaching session. - An understanding of the FA’s LTPD model.
